Today NHS figures show that over 2 million people in the South West have had their first vaccine. They show that 93.6% of over-65s in England have had at least one dose – and the percentage is higher in all seven NHS areas in the South West.
In Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire, 305,733 doses have been given in total - with 97.4% of over-65s having had at least one dose.
Across the UK 20,982,571 people have now been vaccinated.
North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson said: "A number of residents have contacted me with a common query regarding the online booking system and location of where you will have your vaccine. I hope the below information is helpful:
If you have been sent a letter to book your vaccine, you can book through the National Booking Service which will offer you the quickest available appointments, sometimes at different locations. For some people, travelling outside of Swindon may not be an issue if it means they can get vaccinated a bit quicker. However if you do not want to travel or are not able to travel, your GP practice will arrange a local appointment for you, and practices are already in the process of contacting patients with details of how to book a local appointment. Any person not yet contacted will hear from their practice in the coming days. Our local CCG continues to reassure residents that the NHS will get to everyone in due course."
