We have had a great deal of interest from local authorities in the pilot process, at the moment we are currently conducting a review to decide exactly what form those pilots will take, I said that some will be photographic ID and some will be non photographic ID but at the same time we are determined to ensure that interested local authorities can come forward in due time to ensure that they can participate in the pilot project. I addressed the association of electoral administrators on Monday, at their annual conference in Brighton, I was struck by the fact that over 50% of electoral administrators supported introducing ID in polling stations."
