The Government has a £49 billion package in place to support people through the cost of living & global inflation – triggered by Putin’s barbaric war and post-pandemic.
Justin Tomlinson MP has issued an update to make sure that all residents check their eligibility for certain support payments:
As part of our £49 BILLION ongoing cost of living support, we are providing help to millions, including extra support for the most vulnerable. Due to war in Europe & the pandemic, high inflation is affecting people globally. So far the support provided has included:
✅Cost of energy capped at £2,500 for average use households
✅Energy Bills Support Scheme doubled to a one-off payment of £400 for households.
✅£650 one-off Cost of Living Payment for those on means tested benefits.
✅One-off £300 Pensioner Cost of Living Payment
✅£150 Disability Cost of Living Payment
✅£500m increase and extension of Household Support Fund This year, we continue to support the most vulnerable, including:
✅ Energy cap maintained at £2,500 until July (when Ofgem cap expected to fall below this)
✅3 Cost of Living Payments of £301, £300 and £299 for people on certain benefits or tax credits.
✅Disability cost of living payment £150 - summer 2023.
✅Pensioner Cost of Living Payment
✅ Continuation of the Household Support Fund
