Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Parliamentary Charity Football Match

As a massive football fan and enthusiastic player, I was delighted to have an opportunity to represent the Parliamentary football team at Stamford Bridge in the annual Cystic Fibrosis charity game. Our MP’s XI was lined up against a celebrity XI, with Brighton Manager Gus Poyet as the celebrity XI player manager – I did invite him back to Swindon! The celebrity team was made up of ex-pros, comedians and sports stars, for which I had the challenge of marking Darren Campbell, the former sprint athlete! The match helped raise £25,000 and whilst we lost a very close game, I did manage to get on the score sheet, a dream come true. This also means I have now scored as many goals as £50m Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge!
