Swindon based arts and wellbeing charity Every Cloud showcased the progress it had made in transforming a barn in Stanton Country Park into a vibrant community space.
Every Cloud aims to promote positive wellbeing, through a range of artistic and cultural opportunities. The charity is based in the Farmhouse in Stanton Country Park – which has been turned in to a popular tearoom.
In 2016 the group set about transforming an unused barn near its tearoom at Stanton Country Park into a valuable community asset. Volunteers have raised money and secured a grant from the Thomas Freke and Lady Norton of Hannington Charity to carry out an essential pre-requisite ecological survey in respect of wildlife that use the barn.
While the tea shop has been closed due to the COVID outbreak, Every Cloud has continued its work, including an art exhibition made by its members – which also highlighted the progress made so far on the barn, and outlined its future plans.
North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, a long-time supporter of Every Cloud and who helped secure the facilities at Stanton County Park, attended the event with his family.
He said: “I have been a long-standing supporter of Every Cloud, helping this fantastic local charity secure the facilities at Stanton Park. Whilst we are all missing their tearoom and craft shop due to Covid, I am thrilled that they have been able to secure this new exhibition gallery. They are helping transform the facilities at Stanton Park and are much loved by local families and walkers.”
Every cloud has a calendar of upcoming events at the barn, the next of which is a Festive Shop running from 13-15 November. For information see: https://www.facebook.com/everycloudartscrafts
