Hundreds of people visited the Orbital Shopping Park last weekend to enjoy the good weather and visit Justin Tomlinson MP’s Summer Activities Fair,
The Summer Activities Fair is an annual event, bringing together clubs, businesses and organisations from across Swindon to showcase the events and activities on offer throughout the Summer Holidays.
There were a number of different activities kindly arranged by the groups in attendance including:
- an acrobatic gymnastics display from Evoke Gymnastics
- face painting and balloon animals, Spiderman and Princess Elsa from Kidz About
- goodie bags courtesy the Link Centre
- football tennis organised by Draycott Sports Camp
- model trains presented by Coate Water Miniature Railway
- a raffle organised by Swindon and Cricklade Railway
- craft activities from the Girlguiding team
- giant Jenga from Haydon Wick Parish Council.
In addition to this there were stalls from Dreamy Little Events, Swindon Parkrun, St Andrews Parish Council, Educate Together Education Trust, and Swindon Supermarine Rugby Football Club.
With the schools breaking up this week, the Fair was a great opportunity for parents and carers to see what is on offer to keep the children entertained while they are not at school.
Justin said: “It was wonderful to see so many people turn out to enjoy the fabulous weather and fantastic activities on offer. I want to say a huge thank you to all the groups and organisations who took part and made the day so special.”
