Local MP and keen sports enthusiast, Justin Tomlinson, has paid a visit to members of the North End Bowls Club on Ipswich Street
The club was founded in 1926 and has 40 members including both men and women. They host Swindon & District men's and ladies league matches over the summer, as well as friendly matches and club competitions.
Justin chatted to members about the importance of staying active and maintaining good health, as well as some of the issues that the club faces in terms of its upkeep.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "Local clubs like this play an absolutely vital part in our local communities, especially in terms of keeping people active. There is also an important social side to sports clubs and the North End Bowls Club is no exception with its variety of social evenings. I am very much looking forward to bringing my team back in the summer where I'm sure we will be challenged to a good game!"
Club nights take place on a Friday and meals are held throughout the year in the fantastic clubhouse which includes a fully functioning bar and kitchen. If you are interested in becoming a member, please go to: http://bowlsclub.org/club/7892/
