Justin Tomlinson MP has visited Isys Group to congratulate the Swindon-based software developer on its recent win at the regional leg of the National Apprenticeship Awards, where the company was Medium Apprenticeship Employer of the Year
Isys Group has run a successful apprenticeship scheme for a number of years that has seen multiple apprentices take on permanent work with the firm after completing the initial programme. Initially starting with the technical support department, the scheme has now been rolled out across the company, seeing apprentices join the sales, marketing, projects and infrastructure teams.
The firm, whose successes in recent years led to an acquisition by Capita PLC in June 2015, has been tirelessly promoting apprenticeships throughout the Swindon area in order to encourage other local businesses to reap the benefits of working with young people.
Daniel Busson, Managed Services Manager at Isys Group, said: "We were delighted that Justin visited our business to praise the impressive work our apprentices have been achieving with us. Over the past few months we’ve been raising awareness of apprenticeship schemes and their benefits so it is fantastic to be recognised by Justin, not only for ourselves as a business, but also for our apprentices who continuously exceed expectations, enabling us to provide our customers with fresh ideas and an improved service.”
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am delighted that we have a Swindon-based business leading the way when it comes to apprenticeships, and the Isys Group deserve huge praise for winning this award. The Government created 2 million new apprentices in the last Parliament, and is committed to creating a further million in this Parliament, so I very much relish the opportunity to thank the Isys Group for their contribution in providing opportunities for young people.”
