Justin Tomlinson MP has congratulated the recent winners of Swindon College’s annual Apprenticeship Awards. Justin joined outgoing principle Andrew Miller as well as Enterprise Manager Darren King at the awards ceremony to celebrate the success of the outstanding apprentices.
Winners of the awards included those who had completed an apprenticeship across a range of different subjects including accounting, engineering, brickwork, business administration, carpentry, housing and plumbing. They had each excelled in their programme, crowning them as apprentice of the year in their chosen field.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “As a Government we are committed to 3 million more Apprentices by 2020 and having met all the winners last night you can see how we've unlocked their potential with great careers ahead of them. It was particularly encouraging to hear that many of the apprentices had secured full-time employment with the employer who they have done their apprenticeship with. In Swindon alone we have seen over 8,000 new apprentices in recent years, and I am delighted that we continue to build on that by offering people further opportunities to succeed.”
