Justin Tomlinson MP today visited the Chippenham Close Youth Centre in Penhill to drop off a bundle of toys, books and games to get the new youth club there set up and started.
The goodies included a Wii, 7 games, colouring books, childrens' books, toys and tea and biscuits for the community kitchen. The £250 Justin used to buy all the things was donated by First Great Western who are always happy to support local charities and community groups in the towns they serve.
Local community journalist and Swindon Link Editor Roger Ogle was kind enough to donate a TV to link up to the Wii having seen a call for help from Justin on Facebook.
Justin said "I was delighted to be able to help with this youth club project in the Valley.
"Not long ago this community centre was boarded up and abandoned but thanks to the hard work of the community it is now a vibrant local facility. I hope the things I have secured go some way in helping them achieve their vision for the centre."
