Local MP Justin Tomlinson and his wife Kate, joined members of the local CAMRA branch (Campaign for Real Ale) for the 2018 beer festival at STEAM.
The Festival included four brewery bars - three of them local - with drinks from 40 different breweries, as well as beers, ales and ciders from different parts of the Country.
This year’s Festival also raised funds for the British Heart Foundation – of which Justin is a local patron.
Justin spent time chatting to representatives from the breweries, members of the local CAMRA group who were volunteering at the Festival and local residents who were enjoying the atmosphere.
There was more good news for CAMRA members as the Chancellor Philip Hammond announced a further freeze in beer duty in the Budget on Monday – a move that will continue to provide support to local pubs and breweries, as well as beer drinkers.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was a fantastic evening on Friday – we saw so many familiar faces all enjoying the different ales on offer. The local CAMRA members made us feel so welcome and it is clear that they are very passionate about their ale as well as supporting our local pubs. I particularly enjoyed the very seasonal pumpkin spiced ale from the Arkell’s Brewery!”
