Members of the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group met at Justin Tomlinson MP’s community office for a financial planning information event.
Advisors from St James Wealth Management met with parents of children with Down’s Syndrome to discuss long term financial planning to ensure a stable future for their children.
After a brief discussion about wills and trusts, parents had the opportunity to talk to advisors and discuss future financial planning – helping them make informed decisions about how they can best ensure their children are supported in the future.
Justin has been a long time support of the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group, visiting its events and initiatives such as The Salamander Project - a five day long course in which the participants work with local firefighters, police officers and paramedics to develop their self-esteem, build skills and have fun. He has also helped raise money for the group and opened up his community office for various meetings and event.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “This is a fantastic initiative by the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group, ensuring a sound financial future for their children will give these parents peace of mind. The event was very well attended, highlighting how important this issue is to parents.”
