North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has joined forces with Apprentice star to raise the profile of blood cancer.
Justin met Lord Sugar’s right-hand man Claude Littner in Parliament to discuss Blood Cancer UK’s Raise the Profile, Reduce the Harm report, which highlights how low awareness of blook cancer is having a devastating effect on our communities.
Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK, and the third biggest cancer killer – despite this, it has a lower profile compared to other cancer. The lack of awareness and understanding means that people are less likely to be diagnosed quickly, people are less likely to understand what is wrong with them, and people miss out on the support they are entitled to.
The event in Westminster aimed to engage with and encourage MPs from across Parliament to support Blood Cancer UK’s work to raise awareness of blood cancer.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It fantastic to have the opportunity to meet Claude and hear about his personal experience with blood cancer. Blood Cancer UK’s work to raise the profile of blood cancer is vital for saving lives, and I was very pleased to be able to support this campaign.”
