Justin Tomlinson MP joined staff and local entrepreneurs alongside Robert Buckland at the launch of Outset Swindon.
Outset aim to help local residents start their own businesses in the Town. Their business start-up support programme is targeted particularly at those who face the biggest barriers to enterprise, including young people and those who are long term unemployed.
Speaking at the event, Justin championed business ownership as a career path, stressing the importance of seeing as many budding entrepreneurs as possible take the plunge and turn their ideas into a successful business.
Justin said “I have long been supportive of getting more people into business, especially young people. I recently ran my young entrepreneurs day at the Blunsdon Market with local college students and I am delighted to see a dedicated team based here at Outset on hand to help those with the ideas turn that into a successful business.”
Justin and Robert were also on hand to award certificates to those who have already seen the help that Outset give, completing the course with flying colours. The businesses ranged from energy saving, to childcare through to dry felting kits. Both MPs were confident that Outset would see many more success stories and prove a positive force in the local economy.
