North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, has visited Working Links in Swindon, the leading provider of services to help people find work and prevent social exclusion.
The company works across the whole of the UK in prisons and communities, to help people who have become socially excluded - whether it's getting someone off benefits into long-term unemployment, or supporting people with convictions to turn their life around. Working Links provide the skills, expertise and knowledge in a commercial environment to help get people back on track.
By addressing the challenges faced by those who have lost their way, the company aims to tackle poverty though installing aspiration and working with people to motivate and increase self-esteem, and challenge often deep-rooted mindsets.
Justin was able to meet with the Chief Executive of Working Links to have an in-depth discussion regarding some of the issues that they face, before Justin was shown one of the local community hubs which welcomes ex-offenders to meet with volunteers to seek help in gaining advice on employment.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was great to visit Working Links where they are working hard to changes lives and create better futures for those who may have lost their way. The best way of tackling poverty and eradicating social exclusion is by creating jobs and opportunities for people so that they are able to create a stable life for themselves and their families."
