North Swindon MP met with representatives from Persimmon Homes to discuss their developments in Swindon.
Key on the agenda was Persimmon's Kingsdown development, which was granted planning permission in December.
The 1,552 house development will also include a primary school, a village centre for shops, sports facilities and open green spaces.
In addition to this the group also discussed Persimmon's Stanton Chase development just outside Kingsdown and Stratton.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I have always had a pragmatic approach to planning and housebuilding. I believe that by working constructively with developers, elected representatives and the local community, we can build the appropriate developments and high quality homes that people want.
These meetings with developers are an important opportunity to understand how the development will progress, and share feedback from local residents.
I will continue to work constructively to ensure that we can meet rising demand for houses, while ensuring that any development is appropriate and retains green spaces."
