North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson caught up with members of the Towns Fund Board to discuss progress on the Councils bid for up to £25 million to help regenerate Swindon.
The Prime Minister launched the £3.6bn Towns Fund in 2019, to unleash the full economic potential of over 100 places and level up communities throughout the country.
The towns eligible for support from the Towns Fund include places with proud industrial and economic heritage.
The funding will help to increase economic growth with a focus on regeneration, improved transport, better broadband connectivity, skills and culture. The board is an extensive team of people from business, and community representatives, who are working hard to prepare a bid to secure up to £25 million for a series of projects to boost regeneration in Swindon and the town centre in particular.
Justin said: “It was great to receive an update from the board, who are all working very hard to secure this investment for Swindon.”
