Local MP Justin Tomlinson joined the brilliant Uplands choir on Friday to officially open the Christmas fair at the Orbital Shopping Park.
The choir sung a mixture of Christmas carols and popular Christmas songs, from 'O Come All Ye Faithful' to Shakin’ Stevens!
The market has a range of local vendors selling food, drink and festive treats. Local residents are urged to pay a visit to peruse the food offerings while listening to local school choirs sing festive favourites and pick up some locally made crafts to give to loved ones this Christmas.
Jourmaepourri, Emmy Lou Crafts and Pip's Vintage Emporium will all be making an appearance at the market as well as Forked, gourmet sausage and mash and The Toot Sweets Van offering sweet treats, mulled wine and much more
The market will run right up until December 29, with Santa's grotto closing on Christmas Eve, and depending on weather, will be open from 10:00 - 20:00 Monday-Saturday and 10:00 - 16:00 on Sunday.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I couldn’t think of a better way to open the Christmas markets, Uplands choir never fail to raise a big smile and get everybody singing. The markets are definitely worth a visit and residents are welcome to pop by my office too!”
