Justin Praises Stratton Air Cadets For Charity Effort

Stratton Air Cadets have received the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire’s Award for Poppy Sales for the fifth year in a row.

The 2003 (Stratton) Squadron RAF cadets were presented with the award in recognition of all their hard work raising money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Last year the squadron raised more than £7,500 after selling poppies. Money raised through the annual Poppy Appeal from the Royal British Legion goes towards supporting members of the British Armed Forces past and present, and their families.

Flight Lieutenant Keith Head said: "We have won the trophy for the most poppy sales every year for the past five years. We have raised a lot of money for the Royal British Legion, and I am very proud of the cadets for going out in the rain and the cold in late October and early November to sell the poppies and so are the Royal British Legion.”
