Local MP Justin Tomlinson has paid another visit to Abbey Mead's Community Primary School to chat with pupils from years 4, 5 and 6.
Justin was invited to talk with students in a bid to inspire them and encourage them to make the most out of their education. He began by explaining how he became North Swindon's Member of Parliament before engaging the pupils in a discussion regarding their future careers. A mixture of future fashion designers, mechanics and heart surgeons were animated in revealing their future aspirations and goals to Justin.
Pupils were also thrilled to take part in a mock election as Justin talked them through the democratic process and explained how his job was determined by the people of North Swindon. After representations were made from the One Direction, Dogs and Pizza Parties (amongst many others), class mates voted for their favourite option after rabble rousing pleas were made from each candidate.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I had a really enjoyable morning at Abbey Meads Community Primary School. The pupils were enthusiastic and impressively engaging. They thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their own elections and they were also given the chance to ask me questions at the end of the assembly - a grilling which would certainly keep any MP in check!"
