North Swindon MP and Minister for Disabled People Justin Tomlinson was the guest speaker at the National Autistic Society’s recent event alongside Robert Buckland MP.

The National Autistic Society (NAS) is a British charity for people with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), including autism and Asperger's Syndrome. The organisation is funded through UK Government grants and voluntary contributions with the aim to improve the lives of people with autism in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1962, the NAS now has up to 18,000 members and provides a range of adult and children’s services for people with autism located across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Justin was interviewed with regards to the Government’s aim to support people with autistic spectrum disorders, especially when it comes to finding employment opportunities.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "The key is making sure that businesses and employers are given the chance to see what a wealth of talent there is out there when it comes to fulfilling their recruitment needs. I was really pleased to hear that major employers including Microsoft and GCHQ are already employing a large number of people with autism, and I am encouraging others to follow suit."
