Local MPs, Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland, have welcomed Minister for Health & Innovation, George Freeman MP, to visit Patheon.
Patheon have been based in Swindon since 1999 and the site is a Centre of Excellence which works with client partners to produce speciality pharma solutions, and employs over 450 people.
The Minister was delighted to visit the site as part of his South West tour which celebrated the cluster of life sciences expertise across the region. Patheon, a US-based company have continued to invest in their headquarters in Swindon, and a new facility is expected to open a new facility later this year with new products, which will be manufactured and launched locally.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I was very proud to show off Patheon to the Minister as they are a real asset to North Swindon. The company is continuing to invest in the Covingham site as more projects are being undertaken and new products are set to be manufactured. The South West has become a real hub for life sciences and here in Swindon, Patheon are helping to lead the way in this very valuable sector."
