Local MP, Justin Tomlinson, has joined Swindon Outset to meet with local residents who are starting their own business, and share his experiences as a former business owner.
Justin discussed the challenges he faced when setting up a business and highlighted how changes since the Coalition came to power have made making the move far easier. The group discussed how new start-up businesses in Swindon and further afield, are continuing to provide the jobs and growth that have allowed the town to prosper in recent years.
Since the General Election, in a bid to help rebalance the economy, the Government has been working to boost the numbers of start-up businesses which will provide jobs, opportunities and growth. Across the UK, we have already seen 250,000 new businesses set up and in Swindon, we have seen the fastest growth rate anywhere in the South-West. Swindon's local economy is once again showing that it can rise to the challenge.
Justin Tomlinson MP, "As a former local business owner myself, I was delighted to have the opportunity to speak to the group about my experiences. It is incredibly rewarding running your own business and it was clear those who had taken part in this programme were full of enthusiasm, with their very own business ideas raring to go. I wish them all the very best in the future."
