Justin Tomlinson MP has met with students at Cirencester College to discuss his role the Member of Parliament for North Swindon and talk about the important role young people play in politics.
The College, which takes students from across Swindon, offers courses in range of subjects and students taking A-Level Government and Politics invited Justin to one of their classes as part of a drive to show how politics affects not only big decisions made nationally, but on very local matters as well. Justin told the group about how he became involved in politics as a student and went on to become a Borough Councillor in Swindon for a decade before he became North Swindon's MP in 2010.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was fantastic to meet with the students at Cirencester College to discuss my role as an MP. Many of the students at the College are residents in Swindon and their knowledge of how politics works, both on a local level and nationally, was exemplary. It was a real pleasure to see young people so engaged in the world of politics and I'm delighted that the group are helping to spread the message about how important democracy is to their peers".
