North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, has thanked hardworking Royal Mail staff for their efforts during the festive period whilst on a visit to the Swindon Delivery Office.
Over the festive period, Royal Mail staff across the country are expected to process more than three millions items of post and delivery offices will take on an additional 19,000 staff to help keep-up with demand.
During the vistit, Justin had the opportunity to see first-hand the high volume of letters and parcels that are sorted and processed through the town's facility and also bumped into his local postman, Dennis.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I'm incredibly grateful to the staff at the Swindon Delivery Office for showing me around the site and for giving me a better understanding of how the system works. As we approach Christmas, I'd like to thank all of the Royal Mail staff who work tirelessly day-in, day-out to ensure we have universal six days a week service and ensure that we receive our post, including Christmas deliveries, on time!"
