Justin Tomlinson Celebrates Local Apprentice Success At McDonalds Apprentices Event

Justin Tomlinson MP today attended a celebration event at the De Vere Hotel hosted by McDonalds to mark 10 years of business in Swindon and to recognise the first 20 local staff who have passed through their 'invest in local people' apprenticeship programme.

Justin presented the apprentices with their certificates alongside local McDonalds franchisee Paul Booth.

The evening also recognised those staff who passed their Management exam and staff who have excelled over the last twelve months. Having visited one of the local McDonalds restaurants in Swindon earlier in the year, the event was a great opportunity for Justin to catch up with the apprentices he met, as well as other achievers, to celebrate their successes.

Staff who have contributed over 10 years service in Swindon were also recognised.

Justin Tomlinson MP said “I am delighted to be here tonight to celebrate the achievements of our local apprentices and McDonalds employees. I am a firm believer in the importance of apprenticeships in equipping people, especially young people, with vital work skills and experience. The success of all the apprentices here tonight, and those who have gone on to pass management exams, is a testament to the fantastic opportunities this apprenticeship scheme is providing here in Swindon. It is really important that we recognise the achievements of all the apprentices, encouraging others to reap the benefits of such schemes.”
