Justin Tomlinson Launches Improved Bus Services To North Swindon

Justin Tomlinson MP today officially launched Thamesdown Transport’s revised 15/15A bus service between the city centre and Priory Vale area of North Swindon.

From September 19th, passengers will be able to travel into the centre of Swindon earlier in the morning and back to North Swindon later at night. Residents of Taw Hill will benefit from the 15A service that will now travel the length of Queen Elizabeth Drive.

Residents in the Priory Vale area of North Swindon have received coupons through their doors entitling them to two free rides on the revised services during launch week (19th-26th September) to enable them to try the new services out.

Justin Tomlinson said: “I’m delighted that Thamesdown Transport are extending this vital bus service. As a Taw Hill resident myself, I know how important the route 15/15A is for so many local people.  Bus services have been under pressure recently and I’ve always pushed for them to be retained, both as the local councillor for ten years and as the MP.  It’s good that Thamesdown Transport have heard this message and that this important service is being extended.”

Thamesdown Transport’s managing director, Paul Jenkins, said: “Our revised 15/15A bus routes offer the most comprehensive coverage that the Priory Vale area has ever had.  And we hope that the new services will lead to many more residents choosing to use public transport for travel around Swindon.”
