Justin Tomlinson MP and Robert Buckland MP with the Swindon team
Justin Tomlinson MP joined Robert Buckland MP, his South Swindon colleague, to host a charity 'Big Breakfast' in their Westminster office aid of DEBRA. Everyone in the office brought in a part of the breakfast, with juice, pastries, bacon sandwiches, home made brioche and fruit. The 'Big Breakfast' is an annual event organised by the charity to raise money for DEBRA's work to help children affected by EB.
EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) is a very rare genetic condition in which the skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub, causing painful, open wounds. EB affects approximately 1 in 17,000 live births and it is estimated that there are currently 5,000 people with the condition in the UK. DEBRA was founded in 1978 by a group of parents whose children were affected by EB. It has grown to fund research into EB and to provide care and help to those living with the condition.
Justin Tomlinson MP said "We were delighted to join in the nationwide 'Big Breakfast' this morning to raise money for DEBRA. This is a very worthy cause and I hope the national event is a success."
