Justin Tomlinson MP joined, staff, residents, families and local residents to celebrate the 25th Birthday of Wemyss Lodge, a residential home in Stratton.
The celebration was marked with an open day where the Lodge invited the local community to come a visit the home and its residents. Justin was joined by Stratton Councillor, Russell Holland and Swindon Mayor, Mick Bray.
Justin joined the residents in fun activities, including a music making session and then a music based quiz before having a tour of the home's facilities. He also had the chance to talk to the local businesses who were supporting the event, including the Flower Factory and Primary Homes and Lettings.
Justin Tomlinson MP said "It is fantatsic that Wemyss Lodge has been here for 25 years, and it is a real testament to the family like feel that some of the staff have been here for 20. It is great that they have invited the local community in to share in the celebrations and to meet the staff and residents."
"Not only does Wemyss Lodge provide care for Stratton's elderly, it also provides local jobs caring for the community and has recently expanded to add an additional 5 beds. It is fantatsic that the home is still run by people from the original 'Wemyss' family and I wish it the very best for the future."
