Justin Tomlinson MP has met with Ali Newnham from Swindon Victim Support to discuss the work the organisation is doing locally.
Victim Support is an independent charity for people affected by crime and traumatic events in England and Wales. Its specialist teams provide individual, independent, emotional and practical help to enable people to cope and recover from the effects of crime.
Justin met with Ali to hear more about the work Victim Support locally to victims of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, and how it assists constituents, as well as the work it wants to do to provide greater, tailored support.
The North Swindon MP has previously worked with Victim Support both locally & nationally to strengthen the law for victims of crime, increase the resources available to this vital service, and tackle big issues including domestic abuse.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was great meeting with Ali, and seeing how enthusiastic she was about the work Victim Support does, and I look forward to working with her in the future. I am always keen to meet with local organisations to find out how I can provide practical help. This might be through advocating on their behalf, or linking them with individuals and other organisations who may be of help to them. I also make my community office available to charities and community groups to use free of charge.”
