Justin Tomlinson MP Pays Tribute To Swindon’s Unsung Heroes

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has presented awards to inspiring Swindon residents alongside the Mayor of Swindon, the Leader of Swindon Borough Council and the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire.

Justin was invited to present awards at the 9th Pride of Swindon awards at Steam Museum to local people who have shown outstanding generosity, determination and kindness. Among those awarded were inspiring individuals such as 9 year old Oscar Moulding. He has raised £2000 to ship his motorised wheelchair to his friend Sophija in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that she can live life more comfortably.

In addition to paying tribute to the 10 people honoured at this year’s Pride of Swindon Awards, Justin highlighted the important work being done by local charities as unsung heroes, in providing essential support to people who need help.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “For me as MP one of the most enjoyable parts of my role is being able to visit many of the voluntary groups to see first-hand the great work they are doing locally and what a real difference they are making to people. The Pride of Swindon Awards are a real opportunity to pass on our collective thanks to all these wonderful and generous people and was my pleasure to participate in the awards.”
