Justin Tomlinson MP pours a pint at the Dockle Farmhouse's beer festival
Justin Tomlinson MP was this week behind the bar at the Dockle Farmhouse pulling pints to mark the launch of the pub’s beer festival. Running for a fortnight from the 5th October, the festival showcases a wide variety of beers from local brewers, giving them a fantastic platform to promote their beers and help them grow their business.
The event was a great opportunity for Justin, as a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) for ‘Beer’ and ‘Save The Pub’, to meet with the local brewers who came to support the festival launch as well as the Dockle’s pub managers. Justin recently launched his Community Pub Survey, which aims to help local pubs identify gaps in their market and opportunities to grow their businesses. The results will also be fed back into the two APPGs to help shape future policy.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “I loved helping launch the beer festival and enjoyed helping pour the pints. My favourite was definitely treacle stout and I can recommend that everyone visits the festival over the next two weeks and gives the beers a try! I congratulate the managers Paul and Nicole for their success in growing the pub and creating local jobs that have enabled recruits to gain the experience to work their way up the management chain at Wetherspoons and go on to become pub managers themselves, it is a real success story.”
