Justin Tomlinson MP Talks Economics At Swindon College

Justin Tomlinson MP today joined business students at Swindon College to talk about the UK economy as they begin the economics aspect of their course.

Justin set out the current state of the UK economy, highlighting the areas where there is growth and the areas that are holding it back. He challenged the students to come up with their own ‘economic rescue’ plan as if they were the Chancellor. That there is no easy answer was clear as the students came up with a wide range of ideas. Justin then outlined some of the difficult decisions that have been made in a bid to save Britain from bankruptcy and repair the economy.

The students had the opportunity to ask questions on the economy, business tips and the issues in general that matter to them. A former business owner before being elected to Parliament, Justin was only too happy to answer them and to offer tips on the students’ different business ideas.

Justin Tomlinson MP said “I was really impressed by the enthusiasm and ideas of the business students I met today. They have some excellent business ideas – from a tea and old books shop to a company selling sports supplements. I am hugely supportive of the idea of helping young people start their own businesses and young entrepreneurs is a subject that I am extremely active on in Parliament.”
