Justin Tomlinson MP this week joined retired railway workers from across Swindon at their weekly social event. Justin was invited by Ken Tanner to speak to the workers about how he got into Parliament and what it is like representing Swindon in Westminster.
The socials are held weekly in the community centre in the old railway village and regularly attracts upwards of 100 people, with a speaker each week.
Before taking questions from the floor, Justin spoke about the role of an MP, the Parliamentary system, how it was a school election that first sparked his interest in politics and also about some of his key campaigns in Parliament, including Financial Education, Young Entrepreneurs, Libraries and Sport.
