charities that already takes advatage of the service

Justin Tomlinson MP today urged local charities in Swindon to take advantage of text donations by using the JustTextGiving service

The JustTextGiving service was developed by Vodafone on a non-for-profit basis and allows charities and individuals to raise money via text message, providing a free, swift and convenient means of fundraising.

The service is free to set up, with every penny donated going to the charity. Donations can be made by the customers of any network provider without network charges and gift aid can also be claimed on each donation.

It is hoped that the service will encourage charitable donations, particularly among the younger generation, with text donations rising to an estimated annual £96 million by 2014.

Justin Tomlinson MP said “There are already nine charities in North Swindon taking advantage of the great fundraising opportunities JustTextGiving gives. I urge other local charities to give this excellent free service a try and raise vital extra income to help their work.”

Charities can sign up to this free service in a few simple steps at www.justtextgiving.co.uk
