Justin met with students from Churchward School in Tadpole Garden Village, taking questions and having a discussion with students about his role as an MP.
Justin gave a speech on his role as an MP and how he splits his time between Swindon and Westminster, before opening up the floor to questions from the pupils, which were varied and covered all sorts of topics from education, the government's Covid response, foreign policy and China, and the quirks of Parliament and old laws.
Following this, Justin met with Headteacher Dave Dearsley for an engaging discussion about the setting up of Churchward School, other issues in the sector, and plans for the future.
Justin Tomlinson MP said:
“I have always been keen to meet and support students of all ages across our local schools; through interactive assemblies, meetings and my Summer work-experience programme.
"This was a fantastic visit to Churchward School. I was really impressed with the students level of understanding and willingness to engage across such a breadth of local and national issues - they were a real credit to the school. Their enthusiasm, ability to critically think and articulate their views / questions will stand them in great stead for their respective future careers.”
