Justin Tomlinson MP today visited Howard Tenens in Stratton for a tour of the site and to discuss everything from apprentices to the economy.
The company offers warehousing and logistics for a wide range of local and national customers, storing and shipping everything from handbags to car parts.
Justin met with the Swindon team to discuss the company’s plans in Swindon, including potential improvements to their 40 acre Stratton facility and how they can help attract inward investment in the Town. Justin also talked about the potential opportunities for HGV drivers in the industry and how easy it is to re-train. Discussion also covered apprenticeships, tax and the economic outlook.
Justin then had a tour of the site, seeing the varied contents of the different warehouses to gain an appreciation of the scale and variety of Tenens’ work.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “I was delighted to visit Howard Tenens in Stratton. They are a significant operation in Swindon and it is important to meet with all our key businesses to discuss investment and employment opportunities in our Town.
“I was very impressed by the scale of the logistics operations they manage, keeping both local and national shops stocked and our manufacturing lines running. They are a much valued contributor to our local economy.”
