Justin Tomlinson MP and Grand Designs' Kevin McCloud at 'The Triangle'
Justin Tomlinson MP today visited The Triangle, a new sustainable development of 42 residential homes by Hab Oakus, a joint venture between Kevin McCloud's development company, Hab, and housing group GreenSquare.
The visit was a perfect opportunity to see first-hand this new development, constructed on the site of a former caravan park and plant nursery, and experience the principles around which it is built. At the centre of the development is a strong sense of community, a belief in the importance of public space, respect for cyclists and pedestrians, and a commitment to sustainable lifestyles and outstanding contextual design.
Hab Oakus is working with Swindon Borough Council and local people to ensure that the Triangle project serves as a springboard to introduce initiatives such as car clubs and local food networks which will benefit the wider community and Swindon as a whole.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I was delighted to take this opportunity to meet Kevin McCloud and see first-hand this new innovative development. It is clear from the excitement of the first wave of new residents that this will be a development that turns many heads and will no doubt influence future developments."
