Justin Tomlinson MP with Bloomfields owner Sue Belcher
Justin Tomlinson MP today visited local business ‘Bloomfields Fine Foods’ in Highworth to discover what lies behind this local success story.
Bloomfields Fine Foods is an award-winning delicatessen that offers the best in local, regional and international food. Much of what they sell is locally sourced from small producers within 30 miles of the two shops in Shrivenham and Highworth or home made in the shops themselves.
Justin met with owner Sue Belcher and heard all about how she has made Bloomfields a success, from her legendary homemade scotch eggs and sandwiches to her hamper making service. Whatever it is there is a huge focus on sourcing good local produce and excellent customer service.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “I am a huge supporter of Bloomfields and their excellent food and service. What is so striking about this business is how they have come to Highworth, opened on a struggling village High Street and are always busy. They have really injected life into the local area, supporting local producers and drawing people to Highworth.
“Bloomfields is also a fantastic example of how, even in difficult economic times, businesses who get it right can thrive and grow. Things like excellent customer service and innovative ideas such as the hamper service can make that difference.
“I urge everyone to come and try what Bloomfields has to offer. Their scotch eggs are fabulous as are the sandwiches, freshly made to order. I think lots of our friends will be getting Bloomfields hampers for Christmas.”
