Justin Tomlinson MP today joined the blind and partially sighted community in Swindon at their weekly 'Monday Club' at Craven House on Victoria Hill.
The Swindon Bats meet every Monday to catch up with one another and to enjoy a variety of games. Skittles is the usual choice, with the members competing in the local blind skittles league, but Justin joined in with a quiz, testing his knowledge of sport, music and geography.
Justin visited the Bats having secured a donation for the charity and was keen to see what the money was supporting.
Justin Tomlinson MP said "I first heard about Swindon Bats when I visited the Community Life project at ASDA at the Northern Orbital. I subsequently was able to secure a small donation and was keen to come and see the support the Bats provide to the blind and partially sighted in Swindon.
"I was great to meet everyone, in particular Katy the guide dog as I have been very supportive of the Guide Dogs in Swindon, especially following the number of dreadful attacks this year. I wish the teams all the best in the skittles league and I hope they have better luck at that than I did in the 1970s TV quiz round!"
