Justin Tomlinson MP with some of the students
Justin Tomlinson MP visited Swindon College to talk to students interested in a career in public services, from the police and fire services to the military. The students were learning about government at a local and national level and were keen to give their MP a grilling.
The visit was a great opportunity both for Justin to hear, from the students, which issues matter to them and for the students to raise such issues with their MP. Students asked him about a broad range of topics, from youth facilities and provision, through leisure services, music venues, public transport, the armed forces, Britain's role in Afghanistan, to the need to restore the Magic Roundabout Christmas tree to its full former glory.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was brilliant to see the students full of fantastic ideas on how politicians could make a real difference to their lives. Hopefully they will now be enthused to engage in the political process, holding myself and other politicians to account."
