One of the star gold medallists
Justin Tomlinson MP last night visited Swindon Harriers Athletics Club to see in particular the huge boost in children keen to take part and try something new post-Olympics.
Justin is currently working with club representatives to try and raise money for improved facilities, in particular the much needed clubhouse. If Swindon Harriers could secure this, it would help transform the club and the County Ground site.
Justin said “There was so much enthusiasm from the young members, keen to emulate their own Olympic heroes. They all assured me that they would be flying the flag for Swindon in the Olympics one day and would be winning gold medals for Team GB.
“It was a great pleasure to help with the awards presentation to all the children who took part in their recent competition. They are certainly stars in the making!”
