Justin Tomlinson MP surveys the plans for Supermarine
Justin Tomlinson MP this week met with Swindon Supermarine RFC to discuss their plans to extend their facilities at the Supermarine Sports and Social Club.
The plans include two new covered 3G pitches, new floodlights and an extension to the changing rooms. These facilities would be available for local sports clubs to use and would enable Swindon Supermarine RFC to move up the rugby league. With these facilities, the Club could become the leading training ground in Wiltshire and further afield.
The Club met with Justin to discuss their ideas and the planning process.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “Supermarine Rugby Club has ambitious plans to improve its facilities. I would be extremely supportive. The Supermarine site with all the different sports, including football, archery, bowling, diving and rugby, is a fantastic sporting hub and something that we as a town should continue to support. It would be a fantastic boost to amateur and professional sport in the Town.
“The Club is also working with organisations such as the RFU to help fund the project and I will be working with the Club’s members to support them locally and with these national agencies.”
