Justin Tomlinson MP Welcomes Expansion Of First City Nursing Services Into New Home In North Swindon


Justin Tomlinson MP has joined the staff & management of First City Nursing Services as they officially marked their move with a fun day at their new home on Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.

First City Nursing Services, which has been operating across Swindon, Wiltshire & Gloucestershire areas for over twenty years, specialises in providing homecare & nursing support staff to individuals with a vast array of different needs. In recent years they have expanded their operation to include First City Training and a nursing recruitment agency known as Jobsincare. The company have moved into the new site to facilitate further expansions in their services and to enable all of their branches to be based in one central location.

The fun day was very well attended, with the main purpose to bring their opening to the general public’s attention and show local carers, support workers and RGNs together in one fantastic event. Justin who has worked with First City in the past, most recently meeting with the company’s managing director and operations manager to discuss the proposed move to Cheney Manor and ensuring issues in areas such as broadband were resolved.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was fantastic today to join First City in celebrating their move and expansion into this facility, having clearly established themselves across the Swindon & Wiltshire area over the last two decades. This move is clearly positive for First City’s and will be an exciting addition to North Swindon. Swindon is a growing town and this is further evidence that organisations are choosing not only to invest in our town from outside, but those already here feel they can expand going forwards, creating vital jobs for our local economy.”

Stephen Trowbridge, Managing Director of First City Nursing Services, said: "First City has expanded quickly over the past few years and were outgrowing our former offices in Swindon town centre and Stratton. When the opportunity arose for us to take on First City House, it provided us with the space we need to bring all the divisions together, as well as expand our training offer."
