North Swindon MP Welcomes Local Charity’s Award Nomination

North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, has welcomed the news that a local charity has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

SMASH has made the short list in the Kids Count Inspire the House Awards, having been nominated by Justin.

Kids Count is a charity which helps young people overcome disadvantages, and encourages and promotes self-help. The awards are an opportunity to recognise those who have inspired young people and encouraged them to determine their own future.

Justin nominated SMASH because of the work it does mentoring children & young people, giving them positive experiences and helping them identify opportunities to change their lives for the better.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “SMASH is a fantastic organisation which does very important work for young people in Swindon. I felt SMASH matched well with the work Kids Count does, and deserved recognition for the vital support it provides young people in Swindon. I really hope SMASH can go on to win the award.”

Helen Fisher, Managing Director at SMASH said: “We are really pleased to be nominated, its well-deserved recognition for all the hard work, that staff and volunteers, put in to support so many children in need”
