Following yesterday’s ‘all out’ elections to Swindon Borough Council, Justin Tomlinson MP today welcomed the election of 29 Conservative Councillors.
“Congratulations to all the Conservatives elected last night in Swindon as Councillors. All have worked extremely hard during their positive campaign and will continue to do so in their elected roles.
“It is fantastic news, and a testament to the hard work put in, that we retained control of the Council, despite the challenging national picture. In North Swindon, the Conservatives won both more votes and more seats than Labour. Labour were convinced that they would take control in Swindon, but in the end failed to match their ambitions.
"I look forward to working with all our Councillors to continue to work for fellow local residents and for our Town.”
