North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has revisited Every Cloud Arts & Crafts at Stanton Park.
The social enterprise has gone from strength to strength since it was first created in August 2013 at the old Farmhouse in Stanton Country Park. Justin has supported the initiative since its inception, having held meetings and helped the volunteers to work with the Borough Council to take on the property.
Every Cloud runs a number of different workshops including painting, wood carving, stained glass, jewellery making and many other creative activities which are open to members of the public. They also sell a number of craft items in their tearoom which is completely run by volunteers, as well as serving tea, coffee and home-made cakes.
The tearoom is open every Saturday & Sunday between 10:30-16:30 and there is plenty of space in the beautiful garden for people to sit outside during the summer months.
On this, his third visit, Justin chatted to volunteers in the tea room, had a look at the new projects being undertaken in the craft room, explored the new fairy garden which is proving very popular among young visitors, and also heard about the plans to expand and create a sculpture display.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am exceptionally proud of how well Every Cloud has grown. The volunteers have managed to transform this old farmhouse, which would have otherwise been left derelict, into a wonderful visitor’s site which is fantastic for all ages of the family. I would urge local residents to pop along for a visit, and have a tea and cake in the tearoom and gardens, whilst exploring the beautiful surroundings of Stanton Park – it really is a lovely trip out.”
