Justin Tomlinson Re-Elected in North Swindon

Justin Tomlinson has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for North Swindon, following a record result at the recent General Election which saw a 7.1% swing to the Conservatives.

Justin Tomlinson (Con) – 32,584
Kate Linnegar (Lab) - 16,413
Katie Critchlow (Lib Dem) - 4,408
Andy Bentley (Green) – 1,710

Justin emerged victorious, securing just under 60% of the vote and a majority of 16,171.  Justin secured a record majority, highest number of votes cast and largest share of the vote in the history of any seats in Swindon.
Labour’s poor national result was mirrored locally, as Labour saw its share of the vote fall by 8% in North Swindon.

Justin said “You have to earn the right to represent your community, and I am very proud of my positive campaign. The country and Swindon have clearly spoken, demanding positive leadership that will get Brexit done so we can once again focus on the issues that matter, investing record amounts into our NHS and schools, making our streets safer and supporting our growing economy to deliver the next generation of jobs.  This is a fantastic result and I want to thank my brilliant campaign team – easily the best in the country. I am so proud to represent my local community, and no one will work harder than me to champion our fantastic town.”
