North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson joined volunteers at the Coate Water Miniature Railway for their summer thank you BBQ.
The Coate Water Miniature Railway is a long-standing fantastic leisure attraction in Swindon, with over 70 volunteers providing so much joy to families at Coate. Their summer BBQ was an excellent thank you for all the work they do throughout the year and Justin enjoyed finding out more about the history and how it evolved over the years.
The group also raised issues regarding their entrance track access, and Justin has written to Cllrs Lawrence Elliot and Jenny Jefferies (both of Chiseldon and Lawn ward) to raise this issue directly with Swindon Borough Council.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was great to meet so many engineering enthusiasts as they complete the necessary renovations to the trains and tracks to keep the site running, and it was great to see the group thriving. I was also really pleased that the Coate Water Miniature Railway also booked a stand at my Summer Activities Fayre in July, helping to spread the word about such a great attraction here in Swindon."
