North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson visited the Dorcan Rec Centre to see Better Leisure’s Inspire Day.
The aim of Inspire Day is to inspire people starting their journey to a healthier lifestyle and find new sports and activities to try.
There was a wide variety of activities to choose from, including swimming, badminton, netball, walking netball, hockey, football, table tennis, gym workshops, exercise classes – and even wheelchair rugby.
A number of GLL Sport Foundation athletes were also in attendance, as were a number of local netball players who represented England and Wales.
Justin Tomlinson said: “Highlighting the positive impact of sport is something I am very passionate about, and I am a great supporter of any initiative that does this. It was great to visit the Dorcan Rec and see the recent improvement to areas such as the changing rooms, signage, and reception. I also enjoyed speaking to local families using the facilities and taking part in all the activities.”
